DWIGHT – Mary E. Carman, 86, of Dwight, IL died Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 4:18 a.m. at Heritage Health, Dwight, IL. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, IL, with Pastor Daniel Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Braceville – Gardner Cemetery, Braceville, IL. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hager Memorial Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Monty Carman. Mary was born November 19, 1933 in McCracken County, Kentucky, a daughter of Clyde E. and Cordie M. (Overby) Watson. She married Abraham L. Carman on October 6, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1988. Survivors include three children: Michael (Gayle) Carman of Pekin, IL; Melissa Gassman of Dwight, IL; and Mitchell (Loralie) Carman of Dwight, IL; one daughter-in-law, Debra Carman of VA; 11 grandchildren: Michele, Tanya, Angela, Jason, Elizabeth, Erica, Donna, Andrea, Hilary, Zachary and Ethan. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters: Elaine (Carl) Baker of Dwight, IL; Sue Tally of Marquette Heights, IL; Lou Williams of West Paducah, KY; and Linea (Dan) Zeilman of LaRue, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Monty Carman; five brothers: Carl, Billie Joe, Robert, Wayne and Alan; and one sister, Elinor. Mary was a cook at Fox Center in Dwight for 17 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dwight. Mary enjoyed Facebook with family, family card games, especially Rook and Words with Friends.
