CULLOM – Sharon K. Turner, 76, of Cullom passed away at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Sharon was born in Pontiac October 6, 1940, a daughter of Neal and Kate Magee Hamilton. She married Richard K. Turner June 14, 1958. He survives. Also surviving are her four children: Becky (Gary) Moritz of Roberts; Shelly
Turner, Tracy (Alan) Deany, and Corey (Angie) Turner, all of Cullom; eight grandchildren:
Krista (Stan) Watson, Cade Moritz, Ashley (Mark) Stephens, Kelsey Mettille, Torin (Lacey) Mettille, Emily Frechette, Tessa Deany and Tiera Turner. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren; and six siblings: Jean (Gerald) Jacobs of Tempe, AZ; Joan (Samuel) Terrell of Hoopeston; Gary (Barbara) Hamilton of Kempton; Kathy Dyrby of Cabery; Mark (Jane) Hamilton of Houston, TX; and Cindy Hamilton of Colorado Springs, CO.Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Richard K. Turner, Jr. She was a member of the Cullom United Methodist Church and Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122 Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her siblings. She enjoyed going to the races and traveling.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m. in the Cullom United Methodist Church. Pastor Evan Sherar officiated. Inurnment followed in West Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation was from 9 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. service. Memorials in Sharon’s name may be left to the Cullom United Methodist Church, Cullom Beckman Memorial Library, or to Cullom Fire & EMS.
