KINSMAN – Eugene E. Neu, 88, of Kinsman passed away peacefully at his home Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10:40 a.m.
Gene was born July 9, 1927 in Streator, son of Henry A. and Anna Miller Neu. He married Beverly McCambridge September 15, 1951. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children: Nancy of Republic, Washington; Richard of Dwight; and Gary of Kinsman; and his sister, Teresa (Donald) Baumann of Bourbonnais.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Joseph, George, Sylvester, Ralph and Lawrence; and three sisters: Catherine Hoobler, Genevieve Siebert and Irene Watson.
Gene farmed early in his life in Streator and Kinsman, then worked at Caterpillar in Joliet for 28 years, retiring in 1989. After retiring, he kept active with woodworking, gardening and landscaping.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinsman.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Dr. Stanley Drewniak in Sacred Heart Church immediately followed the 9 until 11 a.m. visitation Tuesday, April 26.
Interment: St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom.
