OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA – Shirley Ann Coley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away January 7, 2016. Shirley was born April 19, 1936 in Reddick. Her loving identical twin sister, Betty A. Unz-Ovendorf, was her best friend. From 1954-1957, Shirley worked at Central Illinois Railroad, and for Continental and American Airlines from 1957-1961 as a stewardess, which she enjoyed very much. Shirley was a people person and touched many lives with her gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. She took an active part in the Kiwi organization and at her church. Her adventurous attitude continued throughout her lifetime. On June 5, 1960, Shirley married Daniel F. Coley. Their marriage lasted 55 years and they were devoted to each other. From that union, Daniel and Shirley had three sons who were the apple of her eye. Taking care of her husband and children was the most important aspect of her life. Surviving are sons: Jack A. Coley, Oklahoma; and Steven D. Coley, California; sister, Betty Ovendorf, Ohio; and brothers, Keith Boyer, Arizona; and Roger Boyer, Illinois. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Casey Coley, A.J. Coley, Hailey Coley of New Jersey; Katie Coley, Oklahoma; and Hunter Coley, California. Preceding her in death were her husband, Com-mander Daniel F. Coley; and first son, COL. Elliot E. Coley. Shirley’s loving, generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service was held Monday, January 11 in Oklahoma City.
