This past Sunday was June 21, which happened to be the longest day of the year. It also happened that the longest day of the year was Father’s Day. At first I didn’t realize that it was the first day of summer, just Father’s Day. I don’t really know if there’s any correlation between the longest day of the year and Father’s Day other than that they happened to fall on the exact same day.
I would like to extend a really big thanks to the two fathers that I come in contact with the most, both of whom happen to be related to me. One of which is my dad Mark Boma, (Caveman Boma) as my friends would call him, an inside joke based upon one of his work IDs where he was a very bearded man. Thanks for everything and more that you’ve provided for me through my first 21 years of life. You’re not the biggest talker, but when you do it’s usually what I need to hear, and more important- ly it’s what I need to hear at the right time. Not everyone gets to have a dad in their life for the first 21 years, and to have one that’s as supportive as you is as much as I could ask for. The other father in my life who deserves some recognition is Tom Tock, my grandfather. Thanks for showing me that caring about things goes a long way. First and foremost his family, love starts at the top and trickles down through the rest of family, and he has a lot of it. Also caring about the place in which you reside, I’ve come a long way in my concern for Dwight as a town and what takes place here, but I think I’ll carry that charac- teristic no matter where I end up living. I don’t know if you know that I’ve picked that up from you, but now I guess you do. Thanks to these two for being great guys to look up to and have around in my life. Also thanks to anyone who’s been a great father, you’re appreciated more than you know.
